Yuhi Todome finished 21st and earned the Best Asian Rider award at the Utsunomiya Japan Cup on 18 October 2026, giving the host nation a result beyond the battle for overall victory.
The Aisan Racing Team rider crossed the line 3:22 behind winner Quinn Simmons. Official Communiqué No.5 also lists Todome as the winner of the lap-six mountain prize; these were separate climb prizes rather than a single overall mountains classification.
Simmons beat Ben Healy in a two-rider sprint after 144.2 km around Utsunomiya City Forest Park. Both were credited with 3:33:02. Jenno Berckmoes finished third, 1:12 behind, with Jordan Jegat fourth and Nicolò Garibbo fifth on the same gap.
The organizer’s report, published on race day, describes Healy and Simmons pulling clear after the lap-12 climb. Healy attacked again on the final ascent, but Simmons stayed with him before making the decisive move in the final 200 metres.
The result sheet records 109 starters and 48 finishers.
