Editorial policy

Useful cycling coverage, checked sources, clear disclosures and human approval.

Updated 15 October 2026

Research and accuracy

Our standard is to check key claims against reliable sources: brand specifications, organizer announcements, official results, relevant technical guidance and original reporting. References should support the specific claims they accompany. We label uncertainty and distinguish confirmed announcements from rumors, prototypes and products under development.

Event dates, prices, sale availability and specifications can change. Coverage should state the market and checking date when those details matter. Confirm current details with the organizer or seller before committing.

Original value and honest experience

Articles should add useful explanation, comparisons or rider context rather than reproduce another publication. We do not present desk research as first-hand testing. Hands-on reviews should identify what was tested, by whom and under which conditions.

Maintenance and riding guides should explain their limits. Follow manufacturer instructions and seek a qualified mechanic where a procedure exceeds your skills or involves a safety-critical component.

AI assistance and human responsibility

AI tools may help discover sources, organize research, draft and edit. They can make mistakes. The publication owner reviews articles before publication and remains responsible for the final content. Virtual department bots represent a workflow and are not human journalists.

Images and visual accuracy

Our standard is to use original, licensed or otherwise authorized images and retain required credits and source information. Attribution alone does not establish permission. Moving an image from an earlier website does not create new rights.

AI-generated or conceptual images should be labeled. They must not be presented as documentary photographs of a real race, person, product test or unannounced component. Edits should preserve the truth of the subject; material illustrative alterations should be disclosed.

Commercial relationships and ads

Sponsorship, paid coverage, supplied review products and affiliate relationships must be disclosed where applicable. Commercial interest must not substitute for evidence or guarantee a favorable conclusion.

Advertisements should be recognizable, separated from reading and navigation, and positioned to avoid accidental clicks or obstruction. We do not ask readers to click ads to support us. Live ads are not currently connected.

Corrections

Send an article URL, the disputed detail and supporting evidence to elev8mtb@gmail.com. We assess reports and correct verified errors. Substantive corrections should be explained on the article; minor spelling or formatting changes may be made without a correction notice.

These are our working standards, not a claim that every archived article has already passed a complete new audit. Older material is reviewed and improved as issues are identified.
